Keeping Costs Down
As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, we keep fees at our music centres as low as possible – although we must cover our costs. We operate a simple termly payment system, with fees due at the start of each of the 3 terms. Each term has 10 teaching weeks – see the calendar for further information.
A number of bursaries are available through the Leeds Music Education Partnership (of which YMES is a member) for under 18s from lower income households – eligibility includes Free School Meals, Pupil Premium and certain state benefits. Please ask at reception for an application form.
“Standard” and “Bolt-On” Fees
We have a new “Bolt-On” system for 2016-17 which replaces the previous saver packages. We hope this will be a fairer system which allows a greater number of students to do more than one group at the centre – such as learning a second instrument, joining an orchestra/band, or taking part in another new activity.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
All students pay the “Standard” rate for their first class. Students then pay the reduced “Bolt-On” rate for each and every subsequent class they enrol in.
2016-17 TERMLY RATES
|Class||“Standard” Rate||“Bolt-On” Rate|
|Learn an Instrument: Group Lessons||£68||£52|
|Beginners’ Orchestra (children)||£36||£20|
|Beginners’ Orchestra (adult)||£46||£30|
|Dots and Lines||£30||£14|
Please note that there is no “Bolt-On” rate available for 1-to-1 lessons, which are charged at £180 per term. Students taking 1-to-1 lessons are then eligible for the “Bolt-On” rate for any additional groups they then wish to enrol in though.
